*Riba* is any guaranteed interest on loaned money, regardless of the rate. It is strictly *prohibited (haram)* in Islam — whether one pays it, takes it, writes its contract, or witnesses it.

- If you're unaware of their source of income, *no sin is on you* unless you are sure it's haram.
